GAMBOLO’

Di origine antichissima ( secolo X ), il castello più volte distrutto fu ricostruito nel XV secolo dai Principi Litta. La struttura originaria aveva una cinta muraria, con agli angoli otto torri cilindriche, sei delle quali ancora visibili. La sommità del muro di cinta è coronato da merli ghibellini, a destra si trova la torre della prigione e di fronte la cappella. Il lato occidentale dell' edificio è occupato da Palazzo Litta che ingloba parte della cinta muraria e delle torri.

Un’ imperatrice a Gambolò

Molti storici riportarono una notizia per certi incredibile, secondo la quale in Gambolò sarebbe transitata nientemeno che l'imperatrice Elena Flavia Giulia Augusta, madre naturale di Costantino il Grande (quello dell'Editto che nel 313 concesse ai cristiani libertà di culto). A sostegno di tale ipotesi si cita una memoria, redatta dal Portalupi nel 1749 (contenuta in Storia della Lomellina e del Principato di Pavia), in cui si sostiene che « per costà passò santa Elena, madre dell'imperatore Costantino [...] nell'andar che fece alle Gallie ». Un percorso ben strano, considerando che non risulta che per il borgo di Gombolatum fosse mai stata tracciata una strada romana di qualche importanza. Come se non bastasse, gli storiografi successivi amplificarono questa già poco attendibile testimonianza, dandole il colore di una manifestazione di importanza nazionale, accolta dalla popolazione locale con entusiasmo da stadio.

La Pugna ad Ticinum

in Italia, dopo aver risalito il continente attraverso la penisola iberica, attraverso le Alpi, accompagnato dal suo esercito dotato, invece che di cavalleria, di elefanti - contro i romani di Scipione, gli storici discutono da millenni senza che sia stato possibile giungere a una sentenza definitiva e attendibile. La presunta localizzazione vigevanese della "battaglia del Ticino" avrebbe implicato la presenza del campo-base dell'esercito romano a Gambolò; sarebbe questa una delle ipotesi etimologiche sull'origine del nome del paese, che, secondo questa versione, deriverebbe da campus latus, "campo largo, vasto", che, alterato e corrotto nei millenni, si sarebbe trasformato (questi i toponimi più ricorrenti nei documenti) in Campolato, Gambolate e, infine, Gambolò.

I Borlotti: vanto di Gambolò

Gustosissime ricette si possono inventare con il fagiolo borlotto. Infatti da Gambolò, come a Vigevano, parte, negli anni trenta del Novecento, la coltivazione di tale varietà diffusasi poi in tutta Italia e nel mondo.

II termine borlotto, ossia un fagiolo rampicante tondo dal colore rosso variegato, di cui esiste anche una varietà nana, deriva dal lombardo "borlare", ossia rotolare. In Italia i fagioli vengono coltivati soprattutto in Piemonte, Lombardia, Veneto e Campania; le varietà più diffuse sono oltre al borlotto di Vigevano, il borlotto di Valsesia, il bianco e il rosso di Spagna, tutti rampicanti da sgranare; fra i nani da sgranare il borlotto di Vigevano nano, il cannellino, il saluggia e il bianco pisano.

Il borlotto fresco o secco è adatto per cotture prolungate e ha un sapore energetico che lo rende adatto anche a essere cotto in preparazioni di cui è l'unico protagonista (vedi la pasta e fagioli).

Seppure umile è stato per vari secoli l'alimento alternativo alla carne perle classi povere, contiene infatti il 23 percento di proteine, un'altissima percentuale di carboidrati, le vitamine A, B, C oltre a una serie di sali minerali e per finire ha la proprietà di tenere basso il livello dello zucchero e del colesterolo nel sangue.

Insieme con gli altri legumi il fagiolo costituiva un alimento principe nei monasteri, specie in Quaresima, divenendo simbolo di mortificazione dei sensi. AI popolino invece ispirava ben altri simboli. Grazie alle sue proprietà nutritive, veniva considerato afrodisiaco: "i fagioli generano il seme virile e solleticano al coito specialmente se mangiati con pepe lungo, zuccaro e latte vaccino", come affermava Castore Durante nel 1535.

Andare lungo il Ticino e vedere operazioni militari o elicotteri militari del ns esercito può essere normale, ma, alcuni abitanti della zona, nel corso di questi ultimi anni hanno visto e sono stati testimoni di fatti alquanto strani.
E' nota l'esistenza di un Gruppo di Sicurezza Militare Statunitense, denominato Majestic 12, che tra i suoi scopi (lo si legge nel suo ordinamento), ha anche la costituzione e organizzazione di operazioni sotto copertura da condursi di concerto con la C.I.A. per effettuare il recupero per gli Stati Uniti di tecnologia ed entità extraterrestri manifestatesi nel territorio di potenze straniera, ovvero, venute in possesso di quest'ultime.
A Remondò, è installato un RADAR per la SORVEGLIANZA AEREA, cosa assai normale per una base aerea, ma, secondo il sito del Centro Ufologioco Italiano sezione di Pero, alcuni avvenimenti legati ad avvistamenti UFO, possono far credere il contrario.
" E' ormai consuetudine - come documenta il sito - vedere degli elicotteri militari (a quanto pare senza insegne e con i finestrini scuri) tra i quali alcuni simili ai Chinook (Boeing CH-47) a doppio rotore impiegati per il trasporto di mezzi e truppe, sorvolare con insistenza le aree esistenti lungo il Ticino e la Lomellina che sono stati teatro di avvistamenti di Oggetti Volanti Non Identificati. Gli elicotteri - stando alle dichiarazioni dei testimoni - indistintamente di giorno e di notte, sorvolano le località ove si sono appena manifestati gli UFO. I velivoli militari sembrano provenire e poi ritornare da un solo posto: LA BASE MILITARE DI REMONDO' che ospita solamente un RADAR per la SORVEGLIANZA AEREA. Da parecchi anni, in queste zone, si notano ( specialmente nelle ore notturne ), strani bagliori nel cielo generati da misteriosi velivoli che compiono evoluzioni non eseguibili da normali aerei. Qualcuno, ha ipotizzato l'esistenza di qualche Base Militare segreta appositamente attrezzata per la costruzione ed il collaudo di velivoli derivati da tecnologia aliena. Altri, hanno pensato che gli americani abbiano effettuato delle prove con gli aerei STEALTH prima del loro impiego nella Guerra del Golfo. Di tutto ciò ovviamente, non esistono prove. Resta il fatto che fin dal 1972 dagli isolotti sul Ticino e nei cieli della Lomellina, durante la notte spesso si notano strani bagliori. Numerose sono le tracce ritrovate al suolo. Fra i casi di avvistamento segnalati, ve ne sono alcuni molto interessanti: 1) ELICOTTERI A RAMO DEI PRATI DOPO AVVISTAMENTI UFO: 7 LUGLIO 1995. In seguito ad un avvistamento di un Oggetto Volante Non Identificato che a detta di alcuni testimoni sarebbe atterrato su uno degli isolotti che si trovano nel Fiume Ticino nei pressi della località Ramo di Prati, vi fu il 7 Luglio del 1995 un'intensa attività di pattugliamento da parte di elicotteri e di uomini, del territorio in questione. Un testimone - Giovanni Carminati - mentre si trovava sulle acque del fiume per una battuta di pesca, vide 17 elicotteri neri sorvolare la zona. Di questi velivoli non era possibile vederne il pilota in quanto gli oblò erano scuri e non si poteva capire a quale Corpo Militare appartenessero perché non avevano insegne. L'unica cosa certa era il fatto che si trattava di elicotteri da trasporto. Tali mezzi, scaricarono numerosi militari che controllarono le risaie per un vasto tratto (da notare che in quei luoghi vi furono frequenti avvistamenti). I velivoli sembravano provenire da Garlasco ed atterrarono nelle campagne. I militari controllavano il terreno alla ricerca di qualche cosa e, nello stesso momento, allontanavano chiunque si avvicinasse. Nella stessa giornata e durante queste operazioni, vi furono 3 Black-out. Da altre testimonianze rese dai residenti, si è appreso che gli elicotteri probabilmente arrivavano da Remondò, ove appunto è situata la Base. Inoltre, 25 anni prima in una operazione simile a quella appena descritta e sempre dopo un avvistamento di misteriose luci notturne, i militari allontanarono tutte le persone accampate sugli isolotti. Del fatto, ne ha parlato la stampa locale dando risalto al Black-out (che aveva colpito anche le linee telefoniche), all'attività degli elicotteri e naturalmente agli avvistamenti di UFO che avrebbero originato quanto descritto. 2) CAMPAGNE DI TROMELLO : 1 SETTEMBRE 1996. La sera del 1 Settembre 1996, l'Assessore alla Polizia Municipale di Mortara Cesare Sacchi, la figlia e due amiche di quest'ultima, mentre percorrevano la Strada Provinciale N°96 in direzione di Vigevano, ad 1 Kmda Tromello furono attratti da una fonte luminosa che si trovava alla sinistra della loro autovettura. Fermata l'auto, il Sacchi poté vedere che il bagliore era composto da 4 luci disposte a rombo e che la sagoma dell'oggetto, era di vaste proporzioni. Il velivolo molto lentamente si stava dirigendo verso Remondò e sparì dalla visuale poco dopo. Il silenzio totale che aveva caratterizzato l'avvistamento, fu rotto dal sopraggiungere di due elicotteri militari da trasporto che sembrava seguissero la stessa rotta del misterioso velivolo e provenissero da Garlasco. Di tale avvistamento ne parlò ampiamente la stampa locale ed al Comandante della Base (visto che il velivolo si era diretto sulla sua verticale), fu chiesto se le apparecchiature RADAR avessero registrato il fenomeno. La risposta fu negativa e comunque il Comandante Pierino Carrieri, assicurò che accertamenti sarebbero stati svolti. 3) CASTEL D'AGOGNA: DISCO VOLANTE IN GIARDINO. Dopo il caso dell'Assessore Sacchi, un altro esponente politico - Consigliere Comunale di Castel d'Agogna, riferì di un suo avvistamento 2 anni prima. Anzi, più che di un avvistamento, Il teste Pierangelo Rampi, raccontò che una notte un Disco Volante atterrò nel giardino della sua villetta. Il testimone e la propria famiglia stavano per andare a dormire ma furono attratti da una luce potentissima che proveniva dal giardino. Quando il testimone uscì di casa per vedere meglio l'oggetto, questo decollò improvvisamente e ad una velocità incredibile, scomparendo. Questi sono solo 3 dei numerosi casi di avvistamento di strane luci notturne in Lomellina e, come abbiamo visto, in ben due situazioni gli elicotteri hanno fatto la loro comparsa. E' chiaro che al momento non possiamo dire che nella Base di Remondò vi sia un'AREA 51 Italiana ma, sicuramente il personale militare Italiano ed Americano che vi si trova all'Interno, avrebbe molto da raccontare. A conclusione di queste considerazioni, sarà giusto dire che l'Installazione offre ben poco alla vista di chi transita lungo il perimetro. Oltre alle apparecchiature RADAR, vi sono alcune casupole e nulla più. Vista dall'alto, oltre a ciò vi si vede solo un'immensa distesa d'erba. Ma giustamente, del personale militare estraneo alla struttura ha fatto notare: perché esiste una recinzione ed un sistema di sicurezza incredibile lungo il perimetro ? perché di notte la zona è illuminata a giorno ? Non dimentichiamo che alla stampa e, quindi all'opinione pubblica, nel dicembre del 1995 - proprio l'anno in cui numerose furono le segnalazioni di UFO ed altrettanto numerose le attività militari nella zona - Il personale militare comunicò che era in corso uno smantellamento della Base RADAR.

Vista da vicino, ha un aspetto fatiscente ed abbandonato e la voce che corre in paese è che sia in vendita e che presto verrà smantellata. Ma curiosamente vi fervono dei lavori di ristrutturazione ed un nuovo radar è stato comperato ed installato.

E' stato infine raccontato che i militari, godono di poche ore di libertà e cioè, vengono accompagnati con gli autocarri presso un grosso centro commerciale della zona, dove si possono divertire dentro una sala giochi ( o una cosa del genere) oppure passare qualche ora pranzando nello stesso centro però, sempre controllati da un Ufficiale che li accompagna ! (libera uscita controllata ?) La fonte di queste notizie, è molto attendibile e, chiaramente non è possibile divulgarne le generalità - soprattutto per il lavoro che svolge - comunque c'è da sottolineare il fatto che, quando ha saputo questi particolari dal figlio, non aveva minimamente collegato il tutto con un discorso Ufologico anche perchè i due familiari, non si sono mai occupati del fenomeno ! Solo una coincidenza ha voluto che il testimone parlasse di tutto questo ! Inoltre qualche anno fa, si verificò un cedimento stradale nel Comune di Remondò. Il fatto curioso è che le Autorità Militari non autorizzarono i tecnici del Comune ad effettuare le riparazioni ed intervenne direttamente il personale della Base anche se, la voragine era ben distante dalla struttura militare. C'è chi dice che sotto il manto stradale, vi era il vuoto assoluto anzi: attraverso l'enorme cratere, era visibile una strada nel sottosuoloche collegava la Base alla cittadina. Testimone oculare di questo, è un operaio che molti anni fa ha lavorato per la propria impresa edile per conto dell'Esercito, per la ristrutturazione della Base ed ha lavorato per l'edificazione di una struttura sotterranea ! dopo poco tempo, la sua impresa fu sostituita da un'altra addetta alla creazione di un tunnel collegato con la strada che si vedeva durante il periodo del cedimento stradale. Indizi su cui fantasticare ve ne sono ma.....potrà essere tutta fantasia?
